Dr. Heather Sloan, D.C.

Growing up horseback riding, gardening, and participating in 4-H in Southeastern Arizona, Heather Sloan became interested in health and wellness at a young age. She was thinking of becoming a physical therapist or a nutritionist when she suffered a severe back injury. Heather struggled when physical therapy didn’t help and pain medications made her sick. One doctor even told her she would just have to get used to living in pain, because it would only get worse as she aged. Finally, she agreed to see her father’s chiropractor as the last resort to avoid surgery. “The philosophy of chiropractic, as the body being a self-regulating and self-healing organism, is what gave me the hope I needed that my body was going to heal.” Dr. Heather Sloan. Heather’s life-changing first-hand experience spurred her exploration of the field, leading her to work in several chiropractic offices in Arizona and California, and attend many seminars where she learned more about the science, art, and philosophy of chiropractic. To help her work her way through chiropractic school, Heather also went to school for and practiced massage therapy. Today, Heather loves to help young athletes learn how to care for their spines, support mothers, and help people relieve pain and get back to the sports and physical activities they love. She still loves horseback riding, and is inspired by her fellow riders who persevere through injuries and surgeries with the help of good rehab and discipline.

“My greatest passion as a chiropractor is getting people well and moving, without medication.” –Dr. Heather Sloan
